Yummy! Even though this herb can be a little finicky to keep alive year to year, it is well worth the effort, with the delicious fragrance and flavor of peppery lemon. Native to South Africa, this little gem only grows to 1 foot tall, with small, light green leaves and little white edible flowers that delight honey bees. This plant grows best in rocky soils that are well drained and low in fertility. For summer cooking it is excellent, going well with vegetables, egg dishes, vinaigrettes, chicken and especially fish. We haven't tried it as a sorbet or ice cream yet, but think it could hold some interesting possibilities!
