Evergreen. 3 ft. Sun to part sun.
A size breakthrough for Mexican Bush Sage because it grows to only 3 feet tall and 4 to 6 feet wide. It is a much better choice for a small garden or container compared to the full-sized Salvia leucantha. Long flowering stems with tomentose violet calyces and purple corollas attract hummingbirds. Wonderfully long bloom period, spring through fall or around first frost. Excellent cut flower for fresh arrangements or as a dried flower that holds color well. Prune to the ground in early spring to encourage new growth.
Can be planted in full sun to light shade, and handles heat. Needs well-drained soil. Plant in containers with other drought-tolerant perennials such as Teucrium cussonii, Origanum dictamnus, and Pelargonium sidoides.
