Chocolate mint smells and tastes like a peppermint patty or an Andes mint, with a very clean peppermint fragrance and an undertone of chocolate. It is a great addition to a children's garden, and makes a really wonderful evening tea. My favorite thing to do with chocolate mint though, is to crush some of the fresh leaves and add them to coffee grounds - when you make a pot of coffee it will have the fragrance of chocolate mint, with a nice smooth flavor, and no calories!
Chocolate mint is very invasive, so it is best to grow in a container in some afternoon shade. It grows to about 18 inches tall, with lavender colored fuzzy flowers.
