This santolina is a little gem. New foliage is very delicate looking, but pops with a golden hue. Older foliage is a dark green. This variety is much smaller growing, so it can be used as a fluffy drought tolerant, deer resistant groundcover. The golden foliage can tolerate full sun without burning, but this plant can be grown in a bit of afternoon shade quite successfully. The yellow foliage is sometimes topped with light yellow to white blooms. Plant this plant with deep red Euphorbia such as Euphorbia 'Blackbird' or Coreopsis 'Cherry Pie' to play off the unusual foliage color.
