Semi-evergreen. 4-6 ft. Sun to Part Sun.
Showy spikes of rich purple blossoms can reach a length of a foot. This can be a large shrub at six feet tall and seven feet wide at full size, but can take hard pruning to keep it smaller, best to prune twice during the year. Hummingbirds love the one to one and a half inch long flowers and it is a wonderful food source because it starts blooming in fall and goes through until spring. Can also bloom late spring to fall in milder summer areas. Great for the butterflies and bees, too. Prune to deadhead after blooming. Deer resistant. USDA Zone 9-11
