Perennial. 2-3 ft. Sun.
'Extracta' is a seed grown culinary sage, with sage green long pointed leaves on a 2 to 4 foot plant. It is a standard culinary. Edible purple flowers in long stems in the spring attract butterflies, and are quite delicious to add to salads. Perhaps more than any other sage, Salvia officinalis requires EXCELLENT drainage! Add plenty of compost, or even small sharp rock, and plant on a mound to assure that the roots are dry year round.
Plant in full sun. Prune back up to 50% after bloom to keep plant bushy. Salvia officinalis can be a fairly short lived perennial (2-3 years), especially if overwatered.
