Native to Southern Europe. Handsome rugose silvery foliage grows to 3 ft across. Tall flowering stalks of white and pinkish flowers occurs in mid summer. Remove flowers before it produces seed to increase the life span of the plant. Leaves turn light green during the heat of the summer and after bloom, but will turn silvery white again when cool weather returns.
Silver sage needs hot, dry conditions with excellent drainage. No fertilizer is needed. Plant is a short lived perennial.
