The foliage of 'Silver Frost' lavender is extremely silvery white, and quite pubescent. It is a semi-open foliaged plant to 2 feet tall, with 8 inch pubescent flower stems and violet flower petals. The calyces are very dark purple, but so pubescent as to appear and feel wooly. The flowers are unusual to dry - it is a great selection to use in a mixed lavender wreath, with a sweet lavender fragrance and a very interesting silvery color contrast compared to all of the dark purple lavender selections.
This selection is not useful for culinary or medicinal purposes, but is terrific to grow for extremely hot dry conditions. Drainage should be excellent, but summer water can be applied minimally once the plant is established. If you have a container you are always forgetting to water, this is a great plant to try!
