This is a lovely strawflower relative, with silvery white foliage and 2 inch clusters of ball shaped, red buds that open to starry white flowers with prominent yellow centers, all with a papery texture. This is an interesting plant both in full bloom and as the flower buds form.
This plant will thrive in very well drained, lean soil. It is very drought tolerant so be sure to add drainage to the soil to protect the plant from excess winter moisture. Only growing to 10 inches tall, it is a lovely container specimen and also tucked into rock gardens.
