BASIC HERBAL SALVE, CREAMS, AND LOTION CREATION TECHNIQUES. 11am to 1pm

Mixing herbs and creams for topical medicinal application is a foundational skill in herbalism. This class will focus various techniques of extracting herbs into fats and oils for topical application and will draw upon skills used in the first two classes to apply them in new ways. Topics covered will include types of oils and fats used, proper storage, proper heat processing and formulation for topical application. We will make an herbal oil, salve, and cream, in the class for you to take home. This class is hands on and provides written recipes for you to take home.

Come learn the basics of herbal formulation, herbal extraction, and herbal salve and cream making with experienced herbalist Brita Wynn Dinsmore! This is the third course in a series of four. Take one or more to gain herbal knowledge over the weekend. The focus for this series will be the adaptogenic herbs (stress relieving herbs) and fall and winter preparation.
