Native to southern Arizona and northern Mexico. Drought tolerant, although a bit more water will give a more robust plant. Excellent drainage is critical though! If planted on heavier soils you will need to withhold water. Spikes of warm coral orange flowers from mid summer through fall. Anise scented leaves and flowers, great for tea. Hummingbird favorite! Plants will grow to 2 feet tall, but stems are somewhat brittle so pruning will maintain a fuller, healthier plant.
