This alpine strawberry is a very hardy perennial that produces strawberries in very small areas. They are slightly larger than the more traditional red berries, slightly longer, ivory in color, and have a bit of the flavor of pineapple in their taste. The plants do not produce runners, and bloom very heavily. It is best to plant at least 18 inches apart. They will bloom over a very long period, and are day neutral. If you live in a very cold climate, mulching heavily during the winter will protect the plant crowns. USDA Zone 5
