'Folgate' is a neat, erect bush with a slightly spreading habit to 2 1/2 feet in flower. Corollas are a violet purple, calyces (buds) are sage green tipped with deep violet. It is a great selection for drying and crafting. The foliage is narrow, grey green and sweetly fragrant. Flower stems are 1 ft long, with sweet fragrance. 'Folgate' is an early blooming variety, blooming late April to early May in our gardens. If pruned after spring bloom, it will often rebloom in fall.
