This is a large growing plant (4 feet), native to Arizona. The leaves are slender, gray in color and fragrant of licorice. The flowers are long, tubular and fuchsia, giving your garden that 'poke you in the eye' punch of color. Perhaps the name is too suggestive, but when I eat the flowers I definitely taste a luscious fruitiness. You will have to fight off the hummingbirds however, who also love fuschia colored flowers!
If you are in a high wind area you will need to protect this plant. Keep this plant on the dry side, and provide excellent drainage.
