This is a wonderful tough little perennial, with rounded, lobed grey green leaves that are mounded. Flowers are deep maroon violet, very showy and long blooming from late spring through mid fall. It is a great container plant, spilling out 1 foot or more. It is adaptable to full sun or part shade and prefers very dry soil. It is a widely studied medicinal plant.
