A part of the new Sombrero series bred to produce well branched, sturdy, compact plants with a high bud count, Sombrero Lemon Yellow produces large, single flowers with bright yellow overlapping petals and a dark yellow center some may call brown. Flowers are long lasting, maintain their color, and are attractive to butterflies. This echinacea will begin blooming midsummer and continue for months if properly deadheaded. Flower heads left on the plants will provide food for wintering songbirds and add interest to the winter garden.
Sombrero Lemon Yellow is a full sun, herbaceous perennial good for borders, natural meadows, butterfly or pollinator garden, or wildflower garden. Flowers are excellent for cutting and plants are compact for container gardening.
