Mail Order Information 2024

SHIPPING AND PROCESSING INFORMATION:

What we ship:
We ship plants that are currently available at Morningsun Herb Farm. We are a retail nursery open to the public that also sells online during Spring and Fall. All of our plants ship in a 4 inch container unless otherwise specified as 3 inch or quart in the title of the plant. Tall Plants: Some of our plants are extra tall and can’t be cut back for shipping without removing all the foliage. In these cases, we use two shipping spaces in the box to accommodate the extra height. These plants will count as two plants when calculating your shipping rate and have a disclaimer in the description of the plant stating that they will count as two plants for shipping purposes. All plants are shipped by United States Postal Service (USPS) Priority Mail, which includes tracking, emailed and/or texted to the customer when the order is packed. Orders will be shipped within 2 weeks of order date and an email (or SMS text) will be sent to the address (or phone number) on file with the confirmation and tracking information. Due to staffing shortage, Spring Mail Order Season has been rescheduled for late April 2024.

When we ship:
Mail order is active in the Spring (March, April, May, and June), and Fall (September and October), dates will vary from year to year.  We will not ship under very hot or very cold conditions. The "add to cart" button will be active when we are actively shipping for mail order. The website is available year round for informational purposes but orders can only be placed during the active mail order season. We cannot take advance orders for future delivery. Due to staffing shortage, Spring Mail Order Season has been rescheduled for late April 2024.

How we ship:
Plants are packaged according to quantity. We have boxes for two, four, and eight plants. The root balls of individual plants are wrapped in plastic to maintain soil moisture, placed back in their container and placed in a sleeve. Plants may be topped or pruned to prevent damage. The sleeves are then packed into the boxes which are sealed and readied for shipping with a packing slip. An automated email will be sent to the email address on file, or SMS text to phone number on file, with the USPS confirmation and tracking information.

Where we ship:
We ship throughout the Contiguous United States by USPS Priority Mail, except where restricted by law. Restrictions are listed under individual plant descriptions. The shipping rate chart will list the abbreviation for each state where we ship.

Shipping will be calculated at checkout for up to 64 plants. Shipping for orders of more than 24 plants is calculated by 8 pack boxes, up to 64 plants in an order.

Availability:
We are a small business with a limited staff during our busy season. The website is maintained by the staff and we do not have computerized inventory capabilities. We do our best to have the correct stock levels on the website but due to the fluid nature of the nursery business, sometimes numbers are off one way or the other. If there is a plant you are interested in and it shows out of stock or the quantity is lower than what you would like to order, feel free to call and speak with someone at the nursery or email us at mailorder@morningsunherbfarm.com. We will do our best to take care of your request in a timely manner. 

Due to the unpredictable nature of nursery plants, we may not at times be able to fill some items on your order. In these cases, we will ship the in-stock portion of your order, and adjust your charges accordingly (plants, tax, and shipping charges).  Please add a note to your order if there are items that MUST ship with your order.  If these are items are unavailable, your entire order will be cancelled, and the payment will be voided.

Orders will be shipped within 2 weeks of order date and an email (SMS text) will be sent to the address (phone number) on file with the USPS confirmation and tracking information. Sorry, we cannot take advance orders for future delivery.  All orders requesting future delivery will be cancelled, and the payment will be voided.

Ordering:
Customer orders are placed on our website and then processed by our staff at the nursery. We accept PayPal, Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover. All plants are shipped by USPS Priority Mail, which includes tracking, emailed to the customer when the order is packed. Orders will be shipped within 2 weeks of order date and an email (SMS text) will be sent to the address (phone number) on file with the USPS confirmation and tracking information. Due to staffing shortage, Spring Mail Order Season has been rescheduled for late April 2024. If you have any questions, feel free to email us or leave a message on the mail order line, option 2, when you call the nursery. We strive to respond in a timely manner. 

Our website is set to calculate shipping for up to 64 plants in an order. If you are interested in a larger quantity of plants please contact us to discuss ordering and shipping.

Delivery:
We ship our plants by USPS Priority Mail. Delivery times can vary but usually orders are received within a week of ship date. Please refer to the tracking information sent in the shipping email or text when expecting a shipment.

Orders returned by USPS:
If a shipment is returned to Morningsun Herb Farm due to customer errors in shipping address, we will refund the original purchase price of the plants and send an email, or text, to notify the customer of the refund and reason. The order will not be reshipped. Shipping charges are not refundable. Customer must correct the error(s) before any new order can be processed and shipped.

Issues:
If a box arrives damaged, please do not refuse delivery. Open the box immediately to assess any damage to plants or merchandise. Plants are very flexible and resilient, so a few broken branches usually don’t result in any lasting damage. Give the plants a chance to recover. We will be happy to send you a refund for the original purchase price of plants that arrive with considerable damage or that fail to thrive within 30 days of receipt. Please email a picture of the damaged plant(s) or merchandise within 48 hours of receipt to mailorder@morningsunherbfarm.com. Shipping charges are not refundable.

If plants look unhappy when unpacking, please give them a chance to recover, plants are very flexible and resilientWe will be happy to send you a refund for the original purchase price of plants that fail to thrive within 30 days of receipt. Please email a picture of the damaged plant(s) within 48 hours of receipt to mailorder@morningsunherbfarm.com. Shipping charges are not refundable.

If a package has not arrived in a timely manner, please contact us either by phone at (707) 451-9406,or by email at mailorder@morningsunherbfarm.com. We do not have any more information than the tracking number that we send to you, the customer, and cannot comment on location of package(s) beyond what the USPS website states. We will note package(s) in transit and if they have not arrived within three weeks, please let us know and we will refund the full amount of the purchase, including the shipping charges.
