Summer Preserving Pickle Party
Preserving Summer: A Pickle Party!
Celebrate the vibrant flavors of summer with a hands-on Pickle Party! In this lively class, we'll dive into the art of preserving the season’s freshest produce. You'll learn the fundamentals of quick pickling and traditional preserving techniques while creating a colorful array of pickled vegetables — from crunchy cucumbers and unexpected garden favorites.
We'll cover everything from brines and spices to safe canning practices, so you can confidently stock your pantry with homemade pickles all year long. Expect plenty of tasting, creativity, and fun as we toast to the season’s bounty. You’ll leave with jars of your own pickles, a packet of recipes, and the skills to keep the flavors of summer alive.
We will make a simple syrup, learn how to dehydrate fruit, herbs and flowers and of course - make pickles!
Bring your friends and your love for good food — it’s time to pickle and party!
Tuesday, August 5th, 10AM-12:30PM
This class will be held in Lafayette, California. The instructors are Stefani Bittner of Homestead Design Collective, Alexis Koefoed of Soul Food Farm and Rose Loveall-Sale of Morningsun Herb Farm.
