Light lemon scented (some people think it smells like basil) foliage, with unusual whorls of stacked purple and white flowers that look good in the garden for months. this particular bee balm is one of the prettiest cut flowers, lasting more than 10 days fresh, and is also inredible for drying. It is a good bee and hummingbird plant. It grows to 2 feet, and appreciates good rich soil.

'Lambada' may be hardy to Zone 6, but we usually cannot get it to overwinter in our garden in California. It seems to grow much more like an annual flower. That's fine though, the flower is so unusual I don't mind re-planting it every year!
