The Italian Garden
At Soul Food Farm
Immerse Yourself in the Art of Italian Gardening!
A three hour design & floral intensive held in the middle of Soul Food Farm’s olive orchards dripping with olives on the cusp of being harvested.
Join us for a unique and hands-on experience that combines the beauty of Italian garden design with the charm of California's landscape. This will be a three hour intensive in garden design and a floral intensive. Hosted in the picturesque olive orchard of Soul Food Farm on the cusp of harvest, this class will guide you through creating your own Italian-inspired garden right here in California.
What to Expect:
· Garden Design Fundamentals: Learn the essentials of Italian garden design, including symmetry, formal layouts, and the use of classic elements such as terracotta pots, water features, and lush greenery with Stefani Bittner of Homestead Design Collective & Rose Loveall of Morningsun Herb Farm. We’ll discuss how to adapt these elements to California’s climate and soil. This class offers a perfect blend of education, inspiration, and culinary delight. Don’t miss this chance to transform your garden into a beautiful Italian retreat while savoring the essence of the harvest season!
· On-Site Experience: Take advantage of our stunning olive orchard setting to gain practical insights. See firsthand how traditional Italian garden principles can be integrated into the local environment. Observe how Mediterranean plants and design elements thrive in California’s conditions.
· Interactive Floral Workshop: Alexis Koefoed, flower farmer & florist of Soul Food Farm will lead participants in a hands-on floral design class showcasing the flowers and olives of the farm. Each participant will go home with their own floral creation.
· Harvest & Taste: Experience the fruits of the orchard’s labor! After the garden design session, enjoy a delightful Italian-style farm lunch featuring fresh, seasonal ingredients from the gardens and local region.
