Mojito mint is a tasty spearmint that is much milder, with a softer flavor, than most other spearmint varieties. Although you can use any of the spearmints for a classic mojito, this is the 'original' variety, from Cuba, to use for this drink. The leaves are a bit softer, with a bit of a red stem, and light lavender flowers. Although mints can be grown in full sun, afternoon shade tends to keep the flavor of the leaves much sweeter, with less tendency to bitterness. For Mojito mint, a bit of shade in the heat of the day will reward you with the best drinks in town!
