Yarrow Skin Toner

Yarrow makes a soothing skin astringent or toner that can be used after cleansing to help reduce redness and inflammation.  It works really well in treating troubled skin, insect bites and calming sunburns.

Yield: 8 ounces

  • 1 cup witch hazel
  • 1/2 cup fresh or 1 /4 cup dried yarrow flowers

In a clean glass jar place all the ingredients.  Cover with a tight-fitting lid and place in a cool dark spot. Let sit for several weeks, gently shaking every now and then.  Strain the liquid and discard the yarrow plant material.  Pour into a clean container.  To use: Apply to your skin using cotton pads or pour into a spray bottle and gently spray onto your skin.
